New! Setting up Items with Custom Text Fields (Plus/Professional)

Plus/Professional subscribers can now collect additional information from buyers when they purchase fixed-priced items (Sellable, Signup, and Raffle)with Custom Item Text Fields.

Item Text Fields let buyers type in their own answer. Great for collecting information such as:

  • Student or team purchase is supporting
  • Personalization (monograms, engraving, gift message) requests
  • Teacher/Class
  • Child's name/age

To Set Up an Item with Text Fields:

  1. Go to the Catalog page
  2. Click the Add an Item button or an Edit Icon next to an existing item.
  3. Select a fixed-price Item Type (Sellable, Signup, or Raffle).
  4. Check the box next to the 'Information required during item purchase' button to expand the form.
  5. Provide a field name  or query to collect the desired information into one or both Item Text Field(s).  Blank fields will not be displayed.
  6. Click Save.

 

Key details to keep in mind:

  • Item Text Fields are only available for Fixed-Priced type Items - Sellable, Signup, and Raffle.
  • A fixed-price item can support up to 2 Item Text Fields and/or 2 Item Variant Options  in any combination.
  • Leaving one or both Item Text Fields blank will omit that Text Field.
  • Edits to Items with Text Field apply to future transactions ONLY.
  • Information collected can be viewed on individual Orders and Receipts, and added to the Will Call Report and all other Sales Reports using the Customize menu.
