Q: Why is My Team Member Having Trouble Logging into Our Event Site?

A: We understand how frustrating login issues are - in our experience, these are the most common issues:

  • Wrong site: The user is trying to log in at my.schoolauction.net, which is the account portal, instead of your specific event site.
  • Old credentials: Supporters may assume last year's login will work this year. (While this may be true for event team members, it usually isn’t for supporters.)
  • User error: Common mistakes include typos, caps lock being on, confusing the letter “O” with the number “0,” or misheard characters.
  • Browser auto-fill issues: If multiple accounts are stored on one device, the browser may auto-fill the wrong credentials based on URL—not the correct site.
  • Multiple tabs open: Some tabs may be logged in while others are logged out, causing a session conflict or security issue.
  • Cookies disabled or cleared: Rare, but some devices may have cookies turned off or set to delete upon closing the browser. This prevents login sessions from being saved.
  • URL issues: Older browsers may prepend “www.” to your event site URL, which can prevent proper loading.

How you can assist:

  • For team members having issues, send them an invitation to join the team. Creating User Accounts for Your Event Team
  • Sending supporters an invitation to do the activity they are attempting to log in for (bid, buy tickets, etc.) will also eliminate the need for them to log in. Invitations: Overview + Video
  • You can also view the login and/or change the password for any user at Admin > Manage User > Edit User. The password is not visible in the field, but typing a new password and confirming will overwrite the existing password. Overview: User Records
