Previewing Self Check-out
Self Check-Out and Online Cart Checkout use the same process and share screens - however - you can specify different payment options for self check-out vs online carts.
The preview shown below includes all available payment options and the option to cover cc processing fees.
Review Order Screen
The Review Order screen is accessed by clicking on the Personal Link provided in the Invitation to Self Check-Out -OR- on the Cart icon in the upper right menu bar.
- Custom Text Space: different text can be displayed for Self Check-Out vs Online Carts and can be edited at Site Settings > Customize Your Site > Payment Options > Self Check-Out Settings AND Online Payments Options.
- Buyer Details: If complete, the Buyers details are summarized and an edit button provided. If any required fields are incomplete, the full form will display so buyer can provide the required info.
- Purchases: Order/Cart contents and total price due. Items won at auction, or purchased from Online Catalog cannot be removed from cart without your assistance. Buyers CAN remove fixed price items purchased as add-on items during ticket sales or from Campaign pages (just like any other online "store" cart.)
- Payment Options: You specify which payment options to offer for Self Check-out and Online Cart payments (they can differ). If you want to offer an offline payment option (eg mail check, credit my student account etc), enable and edit the Custom Payment option with the desired name and instructions for the offline payment.
If the buyer has a stored card, it is shown as a payment option. If they want to use a different card, that option is offered as well.
Checkout Screen:
- The Checkout screen varies based on the payment method selected. In addition to the Use Stored Card (option shown above)
Use a different card displays a blank credit card entry form.
Custom Payment displays the payment instructions you configure at: Site Settings > Customize Your Site > Payments/Credit Card > Custom/External Payments. - The option to cover processing fees, if enabled, is available for credit card payments ONLY. Offset fees can be configured at: Customize Your Site > Payments/Credit Card > Additional Credit Card Settings.
- The “Round Up My Bill” feature is available for all payment types.
Note: The example above shows both Offset Fees and the Round Up feature enabled. You also have the option to use the Last Ask™ feature instead, which you can preview here. - The Pay button updates dynamically to reflect the buyer’s total amount due, including purchases and/or awarded items, processing fees, and any approved roundup selections.
