Setting up Authorize.net for Vaulting Credit Cards
In order to vault credit cards using an Authorize.net gateway, you must enable the Customer Information Manager (CIM) on the Authorize.net website.
To adjust your settings, you must have the ability to login to your Authorize.net account.
A. Verify/Enable CIM in "New" Authorize.net
Authorize.net is rolling out a major overhaul of their website. If the images below do not match your view - scroll down to view instructions illustrated on Auth.net's retiring layout.
1a. Login to Your Authorize.net Account
Go to Marketplace > Enable CIM (Customer Information Manager)
Note: If CIM is already enabled on your account, a Customer Information Manager page will appear, and a link to "Discontinue Customer Information Manager (CIM) and terminate your CIM Service agreement" provided.
B. Verify/Enable CIM in "Retiring" Authorize.net
1b. Login to Authorize.net
Go to Tools > Customer Information Manager > Sign up . . .
Note: If CIM is already enabled on your account, a Customer Information Manager page will appear, and a link to "Discontinue Customer Information Manager (CIM)and terminate your CIM Service agreement" will appear below the Profile form.
