Sending Invitations to Bid via SMS/Text Messages (Plus/Professional)

Because unwanted text messages are more intrusive than unwanted emails, SMS service providers have stringent policies in place to prevent abuse of bulk sending privileges.

To comply with our service provider's "best practices" for sending  SMS/text messages (and because some recipients may incur charges from their mobile carrier), Users must Opt In before receiving SMS/Text messages.

Text Notifications are enabled by default on event sites to allow supporters to provide their phone number and opt in when they buy tickets or signup to bid. If you disable Text notifications, the Opt In/Out options will not be displayed on the pages above or My Account page.

You can verify/update your settings at:  Site Settings > Customize Your Site > Email/Text Messaging > Standard SMS/Text Settings.

To Send Individual Invites by SMS/Text:

Go to Auction > Mobile Bidding Tasks > Send Invites

Search for and select desired bidder:

Add/Edit Phone Number and Send:

Note:  If the selected user has not elected to Opt In/Out yet, a confirmation screen will display, allowing you to continue or cancel.   Continuing will update the User's status to "Approved".  Once they access the invitation, they will have an opportunity to edit their status on the Welcome page.

To Send Bulk Invites via SMS/Text (Professional):

Go to Auction Night > Mobile Bidding Tasks > Mobile Invite

SMS/Text messages sent enmass will only be delivered to Approved Users.    You can select "All", but users that have not opted in yet, or have Opted Out will be skipped.

Invitations to Enable Text Notifications can be emailed to allow bidders to update their opt in status.
