Creating Coupons/Discounts for Tickets
For creating coupon code(s) which, when entered, will display additional ticket option(s) on the menu.
Coupon triggered ticket options must still have a specified price (discounted or free), it is not possible to offer a % discount.
A ticket type may have more than one code and a code may open (display) more than one ticket type - however, purchases are not tracked by coupon use. If reporting coupon usage is needed, create unique codes for each discounted ticket type and track usage based on ticket types sold.
To add a coupon code:
- Go to: Site Settings > Registration > Tickets > Ticket Types to Add or Edit Ticket Type
- Click on Advanced > specify desired code(s) for this ticket type.
- Codes can contain letters and/or numbers, but not special characters.
- Separate multiple codes with a comma,no spaces.
- Codes are NOT case sensitive, regardless of how you specify the code - so entering VIP, vip, Vip are all valid for coupon text "vip"
To View Active Coupon Codes and Associated Ticket Options
Go to: Site Settings > Registration > Tickets > Ticket Types to view coupon flags
If coupon(s) are available, a Coupon button displays on the public page:
Applying a valid coupon code adds the specific ticket type to the Available tickets menu.
- If you want the newly added ticket type(s) to display first, or in a different order, drag and drop them into the desired order on the Ticket Types page (see above).
- "Enter coupon code" text can be edited at Site Settings > Registration > Tickets > Customize Registration Forms > Edit Ticket Labels.
